Broadcast From Train Called a First

WNTY(AM) said it will be the first known radio station to broadcast live from a moving train when the Montreal-based program “Travel World” broadcasts live on a cross-country tour of Canada beginning Thursday (Nov. 7). WNTY is the flagship station for the program. It is a news and information station in Southington, Conn. The company said the broadcast is an attempt to create a broadcast-quality program using a cell phone connected to a Comrex Blue Box codec.
