BTS Chief Executive Joe King was inducted as a new member into the radio industries IMRO Radio Awards Hall of Fame at the office of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland in Dublin.
King founded the broadcast engineering company in 1990, which serves the Irish radio broadcast community. It also works in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“I am immensely humbled by this accolade, often the well known household names of broadcasting are inducted, it was a wonderful surprise and honor to be told that as a broadcast engineer I was to be inducted into the IMRO Hall of Fame,” said King.
The IMRO Radio Awards committee (formerly the PPI Awards) in conjunction with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland inducts a few members each year for their contributions to Irish broadcasting and for the achievements of the inductees across their careers.
IMRO Chairman Eleanor McEvoy presented the award at a ceremony in the BAI offices in Dublin on Friday Sept. 22 and the induction will be completed at this year’s IMRO Radio Awards in Kilkenny on Oct. 6.
