Auddia Inc. has launched the next iteration of its faidr app, promising improvements to support enhanced user metrics and more subscription revenue.
Auddia describes itself as an AI platform for audio identification and classification and related technologies, “reinventing how consumers engage with AM/FM radio, podcasts and other audio content.” Faidr provides subscription-based, ad-free listening on any AM/FM station and podcasts plus interactive digital feeds.
“We have known for some time based on our cost to secure an install of faidr on the free tier that consumers respond very positively to the message of listening to AM/FM radio streams without commercials,” said Executive Chairman Jeff Thramann.
To turn that into meaningful revenue, he said the company has been focused on adding capabilities “to convert this consumer interest into retained users at rates that can drive significant revenue from subscribers.”
The company added podcasts and exclusive content last year. Now a feature called Forward+ lets consumers skip content segments such as chapters or ad breaks more easily. Another feature called Seamless, available on partner podcasts, lets consumers avoid ads through a subscription tier.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrations are pending.
