The FCC Media Bureau has announced an extension to the deadline for stations to file their required documents into the Online Public File system.
It said it is having technical issues “adversely affecting the responsiveness” of the OPIF.
“All documents that were due to be placed in an entities OPIF since Jan. 1, 2023, must be filed no later than Jan. 31, 2023,” it wrote in the announcement.
“While we are extending OPIF filing deadlines, we encourage licensees to file all documents as soon as practicable.”
An FCC spokesperson subsequently told Radio World that the OPIF had been experiencing intermittent operation last week and that an upgrade was done to address the issue. “Our testing indicates the upgrade addressed the problem but we will continue to monitor the system and address any new issues that arise.”
