The popular radio program “Car Talk” is the recipient of an iPhone application designed to catch the show, its podcasts and other material associated with the show. “Car Talk” is available on about 600 public radio stations weekly.
The app, from Jacobs Media’s jacAPPS iPhone application division, sells for less than $1 at the iTunes store.
Additional material that the app makes available to the user includes hosts’ laughs, memorable noises and audience comments and a link to the FCC Complaint Dept.
Commenting upon the launch of the app, cohost Tom Maggliozzi asked, “The question was, can we be more sophomoric and annoying than iFart? We aren’t sure.”
Fred Jacobs, president of jacAPPS, assured his nervous client, “Trust us, you’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”
