Mama Carlson died this week.
Carol Bruce, the actress who played the station owner on the ’70s TV show “WKRP in Cincinnati,” was 87. She died in California of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according to news reports that cited an announcement by the Motion Picture and Television Fund.
Bruce worked in stage, film and television. The New York Times reported she was born in 1919, named Shirley Levy.
