News from the surround sound front: David Casey has joined Neural Audio Corp. as product line manager. He will be a contact point for clients for information on the transition to HD Radio, in particular 5.1 surround sound, and will assist with product installation.
“Dave was one of our first customers to make the transition to 5.1 surround sound,” said Neural COO Geir Skaaden. “Dave’s hands-on experiences as a HD Radio broadcaster working with our 5.1 and audio conditioning systems will be a real asset and resource for our current and future customers.”
Casey was assistant chief engineer/director of IT for Infinity Broadcasting Seattle, where he helped lead the transition to HD Radio and 5.1 surround sound – the first Neural Audio 5.1 installation – for KBKS(FM).
He developed in-house software to manage receiver text updates for the analog signal with RDS and the digital signal with IBOC containing song title, artist and other dynamic information.
