Joe Castiglione, announcer for the Boston Red Sox for 31 years, had a pretty good week, last week.
Not only was Castiglione named a finalist for the Ford C. Frick Award, but he was renewed for two more years of BoSox announcing by WEEI(FM).
The Frick award is given to long-serving baseball announcers by the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Can you believe it? Castiglione said, ““I am extremely happy to continue in the best job in New England.”
WEEI Brand Manager Kevin Graham said, “Joe is more than a just broadcaster; he’s become as iconic as Fenway Park or the Green Monster.”
