Howard Stern is apparently caught in the cross hairs of Clear Channel’s new zero-tolerance broadcast indecency policy. According to Reuters, Stern’s syndicated show was removed from Clear Channel-owned stations after an unspecified “incident” Tuesday.
In a statement, Clear Channel Radio CEO John Hogan said, “It was vulgar, offensive and insulting, not just to women and African Americans but to anyone with a sense of common decency. We will not air Howard Stern on Clear Channel stations until we are assured that his show will conform to acceptable standards of responsible broadcasting.”
Viacom/Infinity syndicates Stern’s morning show.
