Clear Channel Lays Off Al Kenyon

Al Kenyon, Clear Channel’s senior vice president for projects and technology, is looking for his next position. His job has been eliminated, he said and another source confirmed.
Following the successful completion of several projects, “I worked myself out of a job,” he said.
Kenyon oversaw office and studio consolidations, from 15,000 square feet builds in small markets to those 100,000 square feet in size.
The 53-year-old was vice president of engineering for Jacor when Clear Channel bought that company in 1999. He started out as CE for Jacor’s WLW(AM) in Cincinnati and worked a combined 16 years for both companies.
Kenyon reported to senior vice president of engineering Jeff Littlejohn. He also represented the company on the Ibiquity Digital board of directors and the FCC’s Media Security and Reliability Council.
Kenyon was based out of the Covington office. Sources said no other positions were eliminated in the Covington office.
