Clearwire Enhances New York 4G Network

Says it is now available to 12 million people in that area

Clearwire says its 4G network is now available to 12 million potential customers in and around New York City.

The company, with Sprint and Time Warner Cable, announced “enhancements” to its mobile broadband network in that market, an expansion of footprint and capacity adding coverage for about 90,000 people.

It said this benefits people in New York communities like Yonkers, New Rochelle and Rockville Center, as well as the city itself, plus New Jersey cities like Elizabeth, Paramus and Newark.

Company official Sean Reid was quoted in the statement: “Unlimited mobile broadband usage is a product that Clearwire pioneered across the country over the last several years and is currently now in 71 markets.”
