ContentDepot Transition Needs More Time

NPR says dual operations for its legacy Public Radio Satellite System and the new ContentDepot program distribution system will be extended through at least February.
The transition period began Nov. 1.
“We need more time to solve the various operational issues and for users to gain experience and comfort with using the system successfully,” stated Pete Loewenstein, vice president, NPR Distribution, in a message to public radio engineers recently.
For now, NPR intends to keep both systems running in parallel and has not set a new target date to drop PRSS and rely only on ContentDepot for program distribution.
