Ken Johnson
Cumulus Media has appointed Ken Johnson as program director at WNBM(FM) in New York. Roger McCoy has been picked as program director for WLXX(FM) in Lexington, Ky. Additionally, Cumulus has promoted Don Boyd to vice president/market manager of its Mobile, Ala., cluster.
Ken Johnson was involved in WNBM’s launch a few years ago. Most recently he was operations manager at WUHT(FM) in Birmingham, Ala. He is also Cumulus’ vice president for urban formats.
Roger McCoy will also be on-air host for the Nash-branded station weekdays from 3–7 p.m.
Roger McCoy
He was most recently evening personality for iHeartMedia station WESC(FM) in Greenville, S.C., following three years as assistant PD, music director and afternoon drive host for iHeartMedia’s WKSF(FM) in Asheville, N.C. Prior to that, he was operations manager, PD and morning drive host for WYBL(FM) for Media One Group in Ashtabula, Ohio.
McCoy is a graduate of the Ohio Center of Broadcasting in Independence, Ohio.
“I am excited to be taking over the reins of Nash FM 92.9 in the heart of horse country. I grew up listening to country music while working in horse stables, so Lexington combined with WLXX and Cumulus’ great staff are the perfect fit for me,” said McCoy.
Don Boyd
Don Boyd was promoted from his most recent position as a general sales manager for Cumulus’ seven-station cluster in Atlanta, a position he has held since January 2015. Prior to that, Boyd was Nashville regional manager for Bott Radio Network, and general sales manager for Cumulus Nashville from 2001–2008.
The Mobile cluster consists of WDLT(FM), WXQW(AM), WABD(FM), WBLX(FM) and WGOK(AM).
