Cumulus Names New PDs, General Sales Manager

Some also retain on-air talent roles

Cumulus Media has appointed Phillip March as program director for WUHT(FM) Birmingham. The company also named Al Farb as assistant PD and afternoon drive on-air talent for KSCS(FM) in Dallas and appointed Eric Jewell as general sales manager of Cumulus Media Kansas City. Also, Cumulus has chosen Chad Valentine as PD for WBHT(FM) in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa.

March was previously director of urban programming for Alpha Media’s Louisville, Ky., stations WGZB(FM), WMJM(FM) and WGHL(FM). Before that, he was PD for Urban One/Radio One’s WMOJ(FM) in Cincinnati and was PD for WIZF(FM) in Cincinnati.

Al Farb joins Cumulus from Cox Radio in Houston, where he was executive producer on-air talent at KKBQ(FM) and KTHT(FM). Prior to that, he was assistant PD and executive producer for iHeartMedia’s KTRH(AM) and KBME(AM) in Houston.

Eric Jewell joins Cumulus from iHeartMedia-Memphis, Tenn., where he was senior vice president of sales. He has held positions including director of sales for Entercom in Gainesville, Fla., and general manager of Rocket City Broadcasting in Huntsville, Ala.

Chad Valentine is a 22-year radio veteran who most recently spent five years as the on-air assistant PD and music director at iHeartMedia’s WHYI(FM) in Miami. He will also be on-air host for middays on WBHT, weekdays.

Cumulus Media combines local programming with nationally syndicated media, sports and entertainment brands to deliver content through its 446 owned-and-operated stations broadcasting in 90 U.S. media markets, approximately 8,000 broadcast radio stations affiliated with its Westwood One network and digital channels.
