D&M Holdings Inc. recently acquired U.K. console manufacturer Calrec Audio Ltd.
Calrec specializes in digital audio mixing consoles, analog consoles and audio networking equipment for live production and live-to-air broadcast. The company uses proprietary technology to process a large number of 5.1 surround sound channels for HD production.
“The acquisition of Calrec is an important step in our stated growth strategy to expand into new markets, specifically commercial audio/visual,” said D&M Holdings chairman and chief executive Eric C. Evans.
Tokyo-based D&M adds Calrec to a portfolio that includes brands such as Marantz and Denon.
