The Democratic members of the Senate Commerce Committee are urging Chairman John McCain to have all five FCC commissioners come in for a hearing on media ownership rules before the June 2 vote.
“Unfortunately, in our view, the FCC’s Biennial Review proceeding has suffered from a lack of transparency occasioned by the commission’s failure to solicit comment on specific proposals or rule changes under consideration,” stated Sen. Fritz Hollings, S.C., and other Democrats on the committee in a letter to McCain.
In a hearing on TV media ownership earlier this week, McCain indicated he would hold another hearing on the topic after the June 2 FCC vote.
