Entercom Communications Corp. announced today that Joe Schembri has been elevated to vice-president of corporate business development, sports sales and sponsorships. The company has also hired two new vice presidents/market managers for their clusters in Madison and Milwaukee.
In his new role as vice president of Corporate Business Development, Sports Sales and Sponsorship, Joe Schembri will work directly with clients to create local, regional and national campaigns by utilizing multiple platforms, including radio, sports play-by-play, event sponsorships, digital, database, mobile and social, a release explained.
Entercom serves as the radio broadcast partner for the Boston Red Sox, Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Kansas City Royals, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, Oakland Athletics, Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks and several NCAA teams.
Schembri has been with Entercom since 2007. He has served as sales manager of KDFC(FM) in San Francisco. He will report to Entercom Station Group President Weezie Kramer.
In other news from Entercom, Chuck Sullivan, most recently VP/market manager for Cumulus in Mobile, Ala., will become the new VP/market manager for Entercom Milwaukee. Meanwhile, in Madison, Wis., Ed Schulz has been promoted to VP/market manager for Entercom Madison. They replace Michael Keck, who previously served as VP/market manager for the clusters in both Madison and Milwaukee. Keck resigned recently and will relocate to Minneapolis to pursue new opportunities.
Schulz has been with Entercom since 2012, most recently serving as director of sales for Entercom Madison. He will manage the three stations in the cluster: WMHX(FM), WMMM(FM) and WOLX(FM). Prior to rejoining Entercom in 2012, he was a sales manager with Adams Outdoor in Madison. He earlier spent six years with Entercom Madison.
