ESPN Attorney Is Elected to CBA Board

Nell DeVane is VP and associate general counsel at the sports broadcaster

Eleanor DeVane has joined the board of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association.

She’s VP and associate general counsel of ESPN, headquartered in Bristol, Conn.

CBA Chair Jennifer Parsons described her as “a dynamic broadcast attorney whose expertise will be invaluable to our board.”

DeVane’s legal work includes corporate mergers and acquisitions, negotiation of production and technology agreements, studio production, remote productions, technical operations and engineering, newsroom legal counsel, sports programming and rights negotiations, real estate work, development and campus construction.

“At various times, she has also handled negotiation of distribution agreements with several of the largest national cable and satellite distributors, and legal work for ESPN’s Original Entertainment Division,” CBA stated.

Her career includes private practice at Tyler Cooper and Alcorn LLP and Wiggin and Dana, both in Connecticut. She received her law degree from Yale Law School.
