WASHINGTON Notifications have been mailed out to randomly selected licensees as part of the FCC process of auditing Equal Employment Opportunity program compliance.

Each year, approximately 5% of all radio and television stations are selected for EEO audits; this particular round lists only radio stations.

The commission encouraged managers to make sure their stations are complying with federal EEO laws. In addition, it reminded smaller stations (less than five full-time employees) that are not required to comply and that receive the audit notification that a response is still required.

The explanation of the process and list of current stations being audited ishere(PDF), along with a copy of the letter stations receive.
