Nine station sales in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland and California have recently come across the Radio World sales desk.
In Pennsylvania First Media Radio has finalized the sale of five of its stations: WOWQ(FM), Du Bois, WQYX(FM), Clearfield, WZDB(FM), Sykesville, WZDD(FM), Strattanville and WCPA(AM), Clearfield. The buyer, Seven Mountains, will pay First Media Radio $4.5 million and the broker on this deal is Larry Patrick of Patrick Communications. First Media Radio also sold two of its Maryland stations, WCEI(FM), Easton and WINX(FM), St. Michaels. Forever Media bought the two for $6.5 million and the broker was also Larry Patrick.
Moving west to Los Angeles is a sale in the works for Universal Media Access’ KFWB(AM). A contract has been signed for Lotus Communications Corp. to buy the station for $11.2 million once the transfer application is filed with the FCC. Lotus also owns radio stations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tucson, Ariz., Fresno, Calif., Bakersfield, Calif.; Sacramento, Calif., Reno, Nev., along with two television stations in Houston and Phoenix. The broker on this deal is Kalil & Co.
Also in California, Gold Coast Radio will buy El Dorado Broadcasters’ KURQ(FM), Grover Beach for an undisclosed fee. Once this sale is filed with the FCC, Gold will have two stations in California as they already own KMLA(FM) in Oxnard-Ventura. Kalil & Co. is also the broker on this deal.
As always, note that radio station sales are not final until the FCC approves license transfers.
