For Sale: Herald's SW Station

The second largest privately owned shortwave radio station in the United States is on the block.
The Herald Broadcasting Syndicate owns the station, WSHB, in South Carolina. WSHB has two 500-kilowatt transmitters, operating independently into high-gain curtain antennas that serve audiences worldwide.
Station Manager Ed Evans said Herald has decided to shift its focus to program production rather than owning and operating program delivery facilities. The station cost $19 million to construct, but the asking price is $6.5 million.
Most recently, Herald Broadcasting has used WSHB to broadcast religious programs of The Christian Science Publishing Society.
