Forever Broadcasting Buys Brighton & Hove

U.K.-based Forever Broadcasting has acquired Surf 107.2, an East Sussex station with a market reach of 311,000 adults, from Brighton & Hove Local Radio.
In a recent ratings survey, Surf pulled in 35,000 listeners, with an average listening time of just over 5 hours each, for a total of nearly 180,000 hours.
Forever said it believes it can substantially improve on this performance by focusing on a music-driven format, one that is more similar to its station in Liverpool. That station, Juice 107.6, airs a mix of dance and hot hits along with local information, and aims to reflect the thriving youth culture in its coverage area.
Forever Broadcasting also owns Tower FM, which broadcasts to Bolton and Bury in Lancashire.
