The Broadcasters’ Foundation has experienced a doubling of membership in five years. Now President and CEO Gordon Hastings says he wants to double that in the next 12 months.
“Membership in the Broadcasters’ Foundation is an opportunity for those of us in broadcasting to give something back to our industry by helping our colleagues in need,” he stated in an announcement.
The nonprofit organization has been in existence since 1942 and offers a safety net in times of crisis for radio and television professionals. It gives anonymous grants to people in need due to illness, advanced age, death of a spouse, an accident or other misfortune.
