Early January, digital audio semiconductor and module manufacturer Frontier Silicon announced support for the Sirius Internet Radio service on its Venice 6 module.
The multistandard Venice 6 makes it possible for audio manufacturers to add Sirius capabilities to tabletop and clock radios without the need for a roof-top satellite antenna.
The Venice 6 receiver module adds Wi-Fi connectivity to the DAB/DAB+/FM capabilities offered by earlier Frontier Silicon modules.
Sirius has some 8.8 million subscribers in the United States and Canada.
