Several months after its acquisition by MediaWorks, Auckland, New Zealand-based urban dance station George FM is getting a power boost.
“We’ve twiddled the knobs, tweaked the dials, untangled the wires and cranked the dial to full power on our 96.8 FM frequency in Auckland,” according to a station press release.
The power boost improves station reception throughout Greater Auckland; a similar power boost is being made for the George FM signal in Queenstown.
“The investment that MediaWorks is making in George FM is testament to the huge potential that everyone sees in the station,” stated George FM General Manager Emily Turnbull. “When you look at the great results George FM has achieved with limited coverage, you can see why we’re so excited about the frequency power-up.”
The new transmitter is based at the Sky Tower and boosts the station output from 25 dBW to 39 dBW.
