Golfers Get Set for Eighth Annual Beeler Memorial

Register for Vegas event

For the eighth time since they first got together to remember their late colleague Scott Beeler by playing golf, a sport he loved, a group of industry people will again tee off this spring before the NAB Show.

“Thanks for helping keep Scott’s memory alive,” organizer Cam Eicher wrote in an e-mail to participants. “We all miss him, and I believe this tournament is a fitting tribute to his memory.”

Beeler was well known in broadcast supply circles. At the time of his death at age 38 in a 2002 car accident, he was director of worldwide sales for Electronics Research Inc. He began his career as a teenager in the stockroom of Allied Broadcast Equipment prior to its acquisition by Harris, where he rose to director of North American radio sales before joining ERI in 2001.

The golf outing will take place at the Lexington course of Revere at Anthem on Saturday morning April 10, the weekend of the NAB Show opening. The format is a four-person scramble. Rental clubs will be available. The Lexington is a different course than the group has used in the past. “You can expect lots of elevation changes, and some stunning vistas of the Vegas Valley and surrounding mountains,” Eicher wrote.

The entry fee is $160 per player ($640 per foursome). The Revere will hold open slots for 40 golfers. Eicher asks that interested players contact him by March 12, after which fees may increase. For information, e-mail Cam Eicher at [email protected].
