HD Radio Built Into Alpine Audio/Video/Navigation System

INA-W910 includes HD Radio with iTunes Tagging

Alpine Electronics is shipping its first 2-DIN audio/video/navigation headunit to feature built-in HD Radio technology. It lists for about $1,200 at Alpine retailers.

The INA-W910 is an AM/FM/ CD/DVD receiver with a 7-inch motorized display. HD Radio technology is built in and features iTunes Tagging for future song purchase from the iTunes store.

The unit can play music from the iPhone Pandora app. Artist, song, album and station information and album art can be displayed. Pandora features such as the thumbs up/down rating system, new station creation, and bookmarking of songs for later purchase are accessible from the INA-W910.

If your iPod or iPhone displays song, artist and album information plus album art, the unit will too after you connect the mobile device to the tuner. The “iPod Passenger Mode” allows backseat passengers to play their iPod or iPhone through the INA-W910’s audio system, using the device’s controls.

The INA-W910’s navigation system has pre-loaded NAVTEQ maps of the U.S. and Canada, 6 million NAVTEQ Points of Interest and voice-guided driving instructions. Lifetime NAVTEQ RDS traffic service is included and does not require a separate subscription.

Hands-free calling is available from the INA-W910’s built-in Bluetooth wireless technology module. Phonebook access is available, navigation maps can be used during a call, and navigation POIs like restaurants can be dialed by tapping the POI icon, according to Alpine.

The unit is satellite radio-ready, meaning you’d need to buy the SXV100 Sirius XM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit, which retails for $69.99, from Sirius XM retailers.
