IEEE Elevates Silliman to Fellow Grade

Honored for contributions to antenna and filter technology.

Tom Silliman has been named a Fellow by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for contributions to the improvement of antenna and filter technology for radio and television broadcasting.

Like his father, the late Robert Silliman, Tom Silliman has been honored both as an IEEE Fellow and recipient of the NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award. He received the latter this spring.

Silliman is president/CEO of Electronics Research Inc., manufacturer of antennas and related broadcast equipment. IEEE President Lewis Terman notified Silliman of the honor recently.

Nominations are being accepted for the IEEE Fellows class of 2010; the deadline for nominations is March 1, 2009. The IEEE board last year named 295 senior members to Fellow Grade.
