iHeartMedia has announced changes in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Chicago.
iHeartMedia Colorado Springs has tapped Samantha Kumm as market president. In this new role, she will oversee programming and sales operations for the region. Kumm will report to Region President Tim Hager and will work closely with Regional SVP of Programming JoJo Turnbeaugh and Regional SVP of Sales Ryan Clune.
She began her career in radio in 2004 in Eugene, Ore., with a six-station cluster that included the flagship station for the University of Oregon football and basketball programs. She has 14 years of experience the industry as a seller and a director of sales.
iHeart Colorado Springs owns and operates KCCY(FM), KDZA(FM), KIBT(FM), KKLI(FM) and KVUU(FM).
The Jacksonville cluster has named John Richards as the country program director for WQIK(FM) — his second time working in the market — with additional programming responsibilities at WTNT(FM) in Tallahassee, Fla., and WPAP(FM) in Panama City Beach, Fla.

Richards joins the north Florida markets from Corpus Christi, Texas, and Harlingen-Brownsville-McAllen, Texas, markets, where he most recently served as the iHeartMedia market president. Prior to that he was market president for iHeartMedia in Albany, Ga., and had stints in Albuquerque, N.M., and Jacksonville, Fla.
As PD, he will report to iHeartMedia Jacksonville SVPP Geewiz.
iHeartMedia Jacksonville owns and operates WQIK(FM/HD), WJBT(FM), WSOL(FM), WKSL(FM/HD), WWJK(FM) and WFXJ(AM).
iHeartMedia Chicago’s WBEG(FM) has chosen Lance Houston as program director and midday host.
As PD, Houston will be responsible for programming WBEG, and he can also be heard live weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Houston will report to iHeartMedia Chicago Region Senior Vice President of Programming Tommy Austin.
Houston is a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., with 25 years in radio.
Prior to joining BIG 95.5, he served as PD for iHeartMedia’s WBWL in Boston and WTBU in Portsmouth where he was instrumental integrating the iHeartCountry and Bobby Bones brands. As country format captain for Boston, Houston also worked with the programming team at WRNX in Springfield. As music director and assistant PD, he helped launch WUBL in Atlanta in 2007. Houston also has served as PD for iHeartMedia’s WPOC in Baltimore.
