Justus Elected President of the CE Arm of the IEEE

Ralph Justus, vice president of standards and technology at the Consumer Electronics Association, has been elected president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Consumer Electronics Society. Justus was elected to the position by the society’s governing 15-member administrative committee. He has previously served as the president of the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society.
“Ralph’s election as the president of the CE Society, in addition to his 25 year involvement with IEEE, is another example of his leadership position within and commitment to the CE industry,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA.
The IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 377,000 individual members in 150 countries. Members of the IEEE CE Society are interested in the consumer related aspects of leisure, video and audio entertainment electronics; home information and communications systems; and interactive information and display systems.
As president of the IEEE’s CE Society, Justus is responsible for administering the affairs of the society and serving as the society’s representative on IEEE’s Technical Activities Board, determining the needs of the society’s members and advising TAB and the institute of specific society-related concerns.
