JVC Americas Corp. and Kenwood USA Corp., subsidiaries of Japan-based JVCKenwood Corp., have merged to form a single subsidiary, JVCKenwood USA Corp.
The merger, effective today, is part of a global integration strategy initiated by JVCKenwood Corp. in 2012, we’ve reported.
The combination of the two U.S. operations completes a process announced in April; the companies say uniting their efforts will enhance operating efficiencies and spur innovation through sharing of technologies and expertise. The two entities will consolidate their business and financial resources under the new company.
JVCKenwood USA Corp. President Kazuhiro Aigami said blending the U.S. operations has been “planned and executed to drive innovation and growth within the Kenwood and JVC brands and their respective product divisions.”
JVC and Kenwood will remain as two distinct brands. The sales and marketing divisions of both JVC and Kenwood, including car electronics, are already both located in Long Beach, Calif. The parent headquarters of the U.S. operations will also be in Long Beach.
