JVC Media Expands in Florida

Eastern Airwaves and EMF exchange assets

New York-based JVC Media has continued its expansion into Florida with the acquisition of stations and translators. It has acquired WHKQ(FM) in Orlando from TTB Media. The Serafin Bros. brokered the deal.

On Florida’s east coast, JVC has acquired WSVU(AM) and two translators, W240CF and W295BJ in the West Palm Beach/Boca Raton market. The seller was North Palm Beach Broadcasting. The broker for that deal was Edward Esserman of Media Services Group.

Media Services Group also oversaw the swapping of Charlotte, N.C., translator W262BM by Eastern Airwaves for two translator construction permits owned by the Educational Media Foundation. The two translator CPs are W284CD, Rolesville, N.C., and W284CP, Durham, N.C.

Bob Heyman brokered the deal.
