KYW’s Donahue to Retire

40+ years with KYW

Radio is famous for its turnover in station staff, especially on-air personnel. So when someone hits 40 or more years at one station, it’s newsworthy. The latest news on that front is after more than 40 years with CBS Radio Philadelphia’s KYW(AM), morning co-anchor Harry Donahue is retiring. His last show is Friday.
Donahue started with KYW in 1973. He’s covered news and sports highlights over the years. He’s been manager of media relations for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and is play-by-play announcer for Temple University’s men’s football and basketball (carried by CBS Radio’s WPHT-AM).
“When I was hired at KYW, I couldn’t believe it … I’ve done what I always wanted to do. To work in my hometown and having been part of this iconic radio station — it just doesn’t get any better.”
