L.A. Stations to Observe Silence

On Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 8:45AM Pacific, Los Angeles radio listeners will experience silence. Their favorite DJ, talk show host or reporter will stop talking. Their favorite song will stop playing. The Southern California Broadcaster’s Association organized this market wide minute of silence to honor of all the people whose lives were lost or tragically impacted and to all the heroes of 9/11/2001.
“John Davison, VP/ General Manager of the ABC/Disney Radio stations in Los Angeles had the original idea for the tribute. Once it was presented we all agreed that all our listeners would appreciate having a few moments of silence as they both remembered and reflected on the events of that day.” said Val Maki-Candido, Sr VP of Emmis/Los Angeles and the Chairman of the Southern California Broadcasters Association Board of Directors.
