Tom Land has been named vice president of radio programming for the Journal Broadcast Group, a newly created position.
Land has been with Journal Broadcast since 2000 when he joined as operations manager for the company’s Omaha cluster. He has also been involved in operations at the company’s WLWK(FM) and WTMJ(AM).
The Journal Broadcast Group operates 33 radio stations in eight states, mostly west of the Mississippi. It also has 13 TV stations in many of the same markets.
Steven J. Smith made the announcement; he’s president and chairman of Journal Broadcast Group and chairman of the board, CEO and president of Journal Communications.
