Langmyer Joins Journal Broadcast Group

New VP of news/talk programming is AM veteran

Tom Langmyer has been named vice president, news/talk programming for Journal Broadcast Group, starting August 12.

Langmyer will oversee the programming of WTMJ(AM) in Milwaukee, Wis. He will also work closely with Vice President of Programming Beverlee Brannigan on the company’s news and talk stations across the company.

He most recently served as vice president and general manager of Tribune’s WGN(AM) in Chicago from 2005 until the present. He has also worked as vice president and general manager of CBS Radio’s KMOX(AM) in St. Louis and as vice president of news/talk programming for CBS Radio, having joined the company as program director of KMOX in 1992.

Langmyer began his career at WBEN(AM) in Buffalo, N.Y., and his background also includes consulting for radio stations in a variety of news, talk and music formats as president of The Blue Water Group.

Journal Broadcast Group owns and operates 35 radio stations and 15 television stations in 12 states.
