Live DRM Transmissions On Tap for ABU GA

Will be facilitated by RRI and Babcock International

A pair of Digital Radio Mondiale broadcasts will be available Oct. 20–24 for attendees during the 53rd General Assembly of The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, hosted by the Indonesian public broadcaster RRI in Bali.

RRI will undertake the first DRM transmission, while Babcock International will facilitate the second one.

The RRI DRM transmission will be available every day of the General Assembly from noon to 2 p.m. local time from RRI’s medium wave transmitters in Denpasar, Bali, on 1206 kHz. The broadcasts will feature music and messages for ABU participants as well as presentations on RRI, the DRM standard, the emergency warning functionality and the Journaline multilingual data service.

DRM consortium member Babcock International will broadcast the shortwave DRM transmission, featuring BBC World Service content, from Singapore on 11995 kHz from 1 p.m.–3 p.m. local time.
