Mid-West Family Adds to Indiana Holdings

Other buyers acquire stations in Kansas and Tennessee

Several sales notices have recently crossed Radio World’s sales desk.

Mid-West Family Broadcasting’s WSJM picked up several northern Indiana properties spun off from the sale of Schurz Communications to Gray Television. Mid-West acquired WNSN(FM), WSBT(AM), WZOC(FM), WHFB(FM) and translator W241AD. Price was $5.5 million. Bob Heymann of Media Services Group was the broker for the buyer.

SEK Media looked to the Coffeyville/Independence, Kan., market to buy KGGF(AM/FM), KQQF(FM) and KUSN(FM) from a group headed by Robert Mahaffey. The price is listed at $900,000. The seller’s broker was Bill Whitley of Media Services Group.

Midwest Communications, not to be confused with Mid-West Family Broadcasting, has acquired WNFN(FM) of Millersville, Tenn., from Joule Broadcasting. Media Services Group was the broker for the seller.

On the translator front, Red Wolf Broadcasting Co. bought W219AU-FX, based in Tupper Lake, N.Y., from Saranac lake Radio for $35,000. Jason James of Patrick Communications was the broker.
