Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster won a preliminary injunction against Sirius XM Satellite Radio for repeatedly calling consumers on the Missouri No-Call list who had objected to the calls.
We reported last month that Koster had filed a lawsuit against Sirius XM and obtained a temporary restraining order as a result of what he said were numerous complaints filed with his office.
At an evidentiary hearing in St. Louis this week Sirius XM representatives contested the preliminary injunction.
In its ruling, Koster announced the court ordered Sirius XM to stop making repetitive calls to consumers on the no-call list who had told the company they didn’t want a subscription or after their free trial period expired. The satellite radio firm may call Missouri customers who have authorized Sirius XM to call them.
The judge ruled that the preliminary injunction will stay in effect until there’s a trial on the permanent injunction.
