Remember past speculation about the future of the NAB Radio Show? Well, it isn’t going away; it’s being co-located with the R&R Convention in Dallas next September.
“We plan on combining the energies of two great radio events to give programmers and management even more opportunity to interact,” said John David, executive vice president, NAB Radio. “R&R has a phenomenal brand and a proven track record of success in the convention business.”
NAB expects more than 3,800 attendees to visit the radio show in Philadelphia that begins Wednesday. That figure translates to a 15% increase over attendance in San Diego last year, according to the trade group.
For next year, both of the Dallas conventions will be held at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel on Sept. 20-22, 2006. Attendees registering for either The NAB Radio Show or the R&R Convention in Dallas will be given access to sessions at both of the events.
