Nautel Hires Bisset, Terry and Schmitt

Continues recent push to grow its market share in transmitters.

Nautel is adding to its sales team.

The RF manufacturer said John Bisset and Ellis Terry have joined in sales positions and Steve Schmitt in a sales engineering role.

Bisset was most recently with Broadcast Electronics and has worked for Harris and run his own engineering firm in the past. He was SBE’s Educator of the Year last year and writes RW’s Workbench column. He becomes Nautel’s regional sales manager for Europe and Southern Africa.

Terry will be Nautel’s Western U.S. regional sales manager. He has worked at BE and Harris, and is a former chief engineer.

The company’s sales team also includes current employees Jeff Welton, handling the central region; Gary Liebisch in the east; and Gary Manteuffel, director of national accounts.

Schmitt comes aboard as sales engineer. He held a similar position at BE and has worked in customer service at both BE and Harris.

The announcement was made by President/CEO Peter Conlon.

We reported in the Oct. 8 issue that Nautel plans to establish a presence in Quincy, Ill., where both Harris and BE have operations. That story is here. The company declined immediate comment on where the new employees would be based.
