The recent NAB convention saw the introduction of Nautel’s ND series 1-5kW and XL series 12-60kW AM transmitters, compatible with Ibiquity Digital’s new extended-bandwidth IBOC requirements.
Nautel said the transmitters provide “ultralinear” 80 kHz bandwidth for enhanced in-band, on-channel as well as Digital Radio Mondiale transmission performance.
The AM transmitters add a lower-case “d” designation such as ND1d, 1kW and XL60d, 60kW. Nautel’s digital-compatible transmitters are shipping.
Nautel also offers a digital compatibility upgrade kit and module exchange program for older ND and XL transmitters put into service in the past 10 years.
