NewBay Media has acquired the Web assets, trademark and subscriber lists of Broadcast Engineering’s U.S. and world editions.

The company said it plans to integrate the websites broadcastengineering.com and tvtechnology.com “to create a single Web-based resource for today’s television engineers and technology professionals.”

It said the acquisition from Penton will add 75,000 unduplicated names to NewBay’s broadcast/video database, which will now total around 500,000 professionals. The announcement was made by NewBay CEO Steve Palm and Executive Vice President of NewBay Media Broadcast/Video Group Carmel King.

NewBay is parent of Radio World, and its television and video brands include TV Technology, TVB Europe, Next TV, Broadcasting & Cable, Multichannel News, Video Edge, Digital Video, Government Video and the Creative Planet Network.

“Further, Broadcast Engineering’s current print subscribers will have the opportunity to subscribe to TV Technology, TV Technology Europe or TVB Europe in print, digital or tablet formats,” NewBay stated in the announcement. “These subscribers will receive information on how to start their new subscriptions shortly.”

Broadcast Engineering’s target market includes corporate and technical management personnel at TV stations, post-production and recording studios, broadcast networks, cable, telephone and satellite production centers and networks.
