The NextRadio app is now available for download on the Amazon App Store, to customers with compatible smartphones.
Paul Brenner, president of NextRadio, called the announcement “great forward progress.”
The free smartphone app uses activated FM receivers in smartphones; it is available on 40 smartphones and one tablet from Sprint, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. NextRadio is also available on HTC and Motorola’s Moto G and E phones with all major wireless carriers.
NextRadio was developed by TagStation, part of Emmis Communications Corp. with partial funding from NAB Labs.
