NMBA Convention Next Month

June 5 in Albuquerque is the place to be

The annual New Mexico Broadcasters Association convention is planned for next month, June 5, in Albuquerque.

The event will feature morning and afternoon sessions, an SBE Technical conference, floor exhibitors, the Past Presidents Luncheon and the Hall of Fame/Golden Mike Awards Gala.

As part of the SBE sessions, Paul Jacobs will discuss “The New Dashboard,” a look at what to expect on the connected car front. Radio World Workbench columnist John Bisset will speak on updating the broadcasting with IP technology. The NMBA’s resident engineer, Mike Langner, will helm “EAS and IPAWS in New Mexico: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” And Darlene Chapman-Holmes of NPR Satellite Services will pitch attendees on the latest in satellite services.

General sessions will feature Bryan Dodge on sales skills and building and effective sales team. Author and consultant Valerie Geller will discuss social media strategies. From Washington, Fletcher Heald Hildreth lawyer Frank Jazzo will provide the lay of the regulatory land.

On the day preceding the event, a charity golf tournament will be held at the Paa-ko Ridge Gold Club, NMBF Links for Education.
