NPR Labs Web Site Gets Redesign

NPR Labs has re-designed its Web site.

NPR Labs has re-designed its Web site.

We’ve reported that the lab has wanted to compile a more comprehensive station database of NPR members. Now, Research Associate and Webmaster Kyle Evans tells me the redesign is the first step of that process.

NPR frequently needs data on how proposed FCC rules would affect noncoms, for example. Using the database, it would be easier for the network to know such things as how many stations broadcast in IBOC, within 100 miles of a metropolitan center.

“By collecting data on HD Radio installations, as well as supplementing it with FCC information, CPB data and emergency plans, we should be able to compile a very useful tool,” Evans said.
