77 WABC Dedicates Studio to Late Morning Show Host

Bernard McGuirk passed away earlier this month from prostate cancer

During a ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 77 WABC Radio dedicated its main studio to Bernard “Bernie” McGuirk, the long-time morning radio personality, who passed away earlier this month from prostate cancer. Wednesday would have been McGuirk’s 65th birthday.

McGuirk had co-hosted “Bernie & Sid in the Morning” with Sid Rosenberg since 2018. He initially started at WABC in 2007 as executive producer of the “Imus in the Morning Show.”

77 WABC had previously honored the life of McGuirk with an all-day special tribute on Oct. 12.

WABC is a commercial radio station licensed to New York City carrying a conservative talk format known as “Talkradio 77.” Owned by John Catsimatidis’ Red Apple Media, the station’s studios are located in Red Apple Media headquarters on Third Avenue in Midtown Manhattan and its transmitter is in Lodi, New Jersey.
