The Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers held its annual meeting in Portland, Maine, and elected new officers for 2027.
Its incoming board of directors chose Matt Butcher as president, Jim Leifer as vice president, John George as secretary and Bob Weller as treasurer, according to a release.
At the 78th annual meeting, AFCCE also welcomed John Collison, John George and Mark Heller as new members of its board of directors and it also welcomed Harvey Arnold, Stephen Lockwood and Stephen Crowley as returning board members.
It also thanked Stephen Pumple, Benjamin Dawson and Anne
Crump for their dedicated service on the board.
The association’s scholarship fund awarded 11 students $16,000 in scholarships for the upcoming fall semester. The recipients have expressed an intention to pursue careers in telecommunications engineering.
At the meeting, members were welcomed to a Dielectric factory tour and technical presentations, arranged by members Jay Martin and Keith Pelletier.
The meeting included reports from the association’s officers and committee chairs.
AFCCE’s board also approved maintaining the current membership fee structure for next year and agreed to sponsor the IEEE Broadcast Forum, scheduled for Oct. 27–28 in Washington, D.C.
The AFCCE is a professional association serving engineers and technical experts practicing before the Federal Communications Commission and engaged in telecommunications, broadcast and related spectrum matters.
