Alex Siciliano is the new chief spokesperson for the National Association of Broadcasters, which promoted him to senior VP of communications.
“In this role, Siciliano leads NAB’s communications team and oversees the association’s media outreach,” the association said in the announcement.
“He is responsible for messaging strategies to further NAB’s initiatives and advocacy issues before Congress and the administration. Siciliano also serves as the chief spokesperson for NAB and as a key advisor to the association’s senior leadership.”
He succeeds Ann Marie Cumming, who announced this week that she is leaving the association to become executive director of the Congressional Club Museum and Foundation.
Siciliano joined NAB last May as senior communication strategist. He’s a former vice president of communications at The Petrizzo Group; before that he worked for three Republican senators. He was deputy chief of staff for then-Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado and was Gardner’s communications director. In college he worked on the presidential campaign for Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
Siciliano now leads an NAB press team that also includes Vice President of Communications Zamir Ahmed and Communications and Social Media Manager Grace Whaley. Communications is part of the Public Affairs department led by Chief of Staff and EVP Michelle Lehman.
