BE Names David Sparano as CTO

Firm cites his experience at companies like GatesAir, Comark and Thomson

Headshot of David SparanoDavid Sparano has been named chief technology officer for Broadcast Electronics.

“Sparano, holder of multiple masters of engineering degrees and U.S. patents, brings deep technical know-how and a rich broadcast history to BE, having held multiple senior technology and customer service leadership roles at Harris, GatesAir, Comark and Thomson,” the company said.

“He led the development of multiple generations of innovative and award-winning products ranging from compact low-power air-cooled to high-power liquid-cooled breakthrough transmitters for FM, DAB and digital television used daily by thousands of broadcasters around the globe.”

In the announcement, Sparano described BE as “reinvigorated.” BE was recently acquired by a U.S.-based investor group. Rich Redmond is president and CEO.
